FAQ — La Garde-Robe VM

Who are the designers featured?

La Garde-Robe VM offers a curated mix of authentic luxury designer pieces, custom-made gowns, and exclusive designs by Matius Design — each selected for its craftsmanship, fit, and artistry.
Our collection evolves seasonally to reflect modern glamour with timeless elegance.

Are all pieces authentic?

Yes. Every garment is verified for authenticity and condition before entering our collection and inspected again after each rental to ensure it meets our standards of quality and care.

How long can I keep the dress?

Our standard rental period is 72 hours.
If you need extra time, extensions are available upon request for an additional daily fee — subject to the garment’s availability.

Can I try on before renting?

Absolutely — and in fact, it’s required.
All garments must be tried on in our Seattle showroom prior to rental to ensure the perfect fit and styling.
You can schedule your fitting appointment through our “Book a Try-On” page or by contacting us directly.

Can I reserve a garment in advance for an event?

You may express interest or book a fitting up to 2–3 weeks before your event, but garments can only be placed on official hold after they’ve been tried on and approved in person.

Can I rent multiple items at once?

Yes — clients are welcome to rent up to two looks per event (for example, a main look and a second for photos or after-party).
If you’re planning a full weekend or multi-day event, our styling concierge can help curate a custom wardrobe package.

Is there a deposit required?

Yes.
A refundable deposit hold is placed on your card at booking to protect against late returns or significant damage.
It’s an authorization only — not a charge — and is released after garment inspection.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Stripe secure checkout.
Your rental fee is charged in full at the time of booking to confirm your dates.

When is my card charged?

  • Rental fee: Charged 100% at the time of booking.

  • Deposit: Authorization hold placed at pick-up; released after return and inspection.

Do you offer shipping or delivery?

Not at this time.
All try-ons, pick-ups, and returns take place in our Seattle showroom to ensure the best fit, garment condition, and client experience.

What if my dress doesn’t fit after trying it on?

Because all pieces are tried on in person prior to booking, sizing issues are extremely rare.
If the fit still doesn’t feel perfect at your appointment, our stylists will help you select an alternative look on the spot.

How do I return the garment?

Simply return your piece to our showroom by the agreed deadline (typically by 6 PM on the final rental day) in the original garment bag with hangers and accessories.

What if I return it late?

A late return fee applies for each additional day, as outlined in your rental agreement.
After three days, the item may be considered non-returned and charged at its replacement value.

Do I need to clean the garment before returning it?

No — professional cleaning is included.
Simply return your garment as is; our specialists handle all care and maintenance.

What if I accidentally damage an item?

Minor wear is expected.
For more significant damage (stains, tears, missing embellishments), we’ll assess a repair or replacement fee.
You’ll be notified with photos and an estimate before any charge is applied.

Do you offer styling assistance?

Yes — our Verni & Matius Styling Service offers personal consultations, curated outfit coordination, and accessory pairing to ensure your final look feels complete and unforgettable.

Can I alter a rented piece?

Permanent alterations are not permitted.
Temporary adjustments (e.g., hem tape, fashion pins) may be used but must be fully reversible.

Can I cancel or change my order?

Cancellations made at least 14 days prior to your scheduled pick-up qualify for a full refund.
After that, bookings are eligible for store credit only.
Changes to rental dates or items depend on availability.

Are rentals refundable?

Rentals are non-refundable once the garment leaves the showroom, but you may receive store credit if your plans change prior to pick-up (see cancellation policy).

How do you handle lost or stolen items?

If a rented item is not returned within three days after the due date, it will be treated as lost, and the replacement value will be charged to the card on file.
